The Oneida, New York, community is mourning the loss of Norma J. Coonrod, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and longtime resident who passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Oneida Health Hospital following a courageous battle during her final weeks. She was 59.

Norma’s passing has left family members, friends, and community members grieving the loss of a woman remembered for her compassion, generosity, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Throughout her life, she built lasting relationships and touched countless lives through her kindness and willingness to help others.

Born on January 24, 1967, in Oneida, Norma was the daughter of Reginald and Diane (Buss) Jordan. A lifelong member of the Oneida community, she attended local schools and spent much of her life serving others. For 13 years, she worked as a dispatcher with Vineall Ambulance, where she earned the respect of colleagues and residents alike for her professionalism, calm demeanor, and commitment to assisting people during emergencies.

Family was the center of Norma’s world. She was a devoted mother to her five children and found immense joy in being known as “Nanny” to her nine grandchildren. Whether celebrating family milestones or enjoying everyday moments together, she cherished the time she spent with her loved ones and created memories that will be treasured for years to come.

Friends and family remember Norma as someone with a warm heart and welcoming spirit. She was known for offering encouragement, support, and friendship to anyone who needed it. She also shared a close bond with her sisters, enjoying family gatherings, game nights, and traditions that strengthened their relationships throughout the years.

Norma is survived by her father, Reginald Jordan; her children, Adam Coonrod, Brandy Coonrod, Patricia Coonrod (Chris Nicotera), Tiffany Coonrod, and Barbra (Paul) Miller; her nine cherished grandchildren; her brother, David (Chrissy) Partridge; and her sisters, Lisa (Fred) Rhinehardt, Michelle Jordan, Regina Jordan, and Nicole Jordan. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Diane Jordan; her brother, Donald Partridge Jr.; her sisters, Kathleen Dunning and Tracy Ann Jordan; and her dear friend, Sherry Ford Snyder.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Norma’s life during a Celebration of Life on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Oneida American Legion. Loved ones will have an opportunity to share memories and honor the life of a woman whose kindness and devotion left a lasting impact on so many.

Norma J. Coonrod will be remembered for her loving nature, selfless spirit, and unwavering commitment to her family and community. Her legacy will continue through the lives she touched and the memories she leaves behind.
