UPPER UWCHLAN TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA — Family, friends, teammates, and the local sports community are mourning the loss of Sean O’Connor, who died at Marsh Creek State Park over the Fourth of July weekend following severe storms that swept through the region.
Authorities confirmed that O’Connor was the man whose body was recovered after an extensive overnight search at the popular Chester County park. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 4, shortly after 8 p.m., as powerful storms moved across southeastern Pennsylvania.
Emergency responders launched a large-scale search operation after receiving reports of an incident on the water. Multiple boats were deployed from the west boat ramp, with local fire department search-and-rescue teams working alongside staff from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). After hours of searching, O’Connor’s body was recovered shortly after midnight.
